The Cots 4 Tots story
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a non-profit foundation which supports the Marine Corps’ annual toy drive. It provides administrative, advisory, financial logistical, and promotional support to local Toys for Tots Coordinators and many other services that the Marine Corps cannot provide. It also provides educational and informational materials to the general public. It also arranges for national companies to include information about Toys for Tots in their paid advertisements, and runs an education and public relations program each year.
The Cots 4 Tots story began in 2010 with a fund-raising appeal for Bristol’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located at St Michael’s Hospital. Since its founding the charity has raised tens and thousands of pounds to assist families who have sick or premature babies in the West of England and South Wales. Its work includes family accommodation houses and providing state-of-the-art equipment for the NICU.
One of the main areas of focus is the Cots For Tots House, a cost-free “home from home” for families staying in the hospital. It is located opposite the NICU and allows parents to be close to their child. Since 2012 the charity has assisted more than 2,100 families remain at home.
Families who stay at Cots for Tots House can be reassured that they’re not the only ones. They can share their experiences with other parents going through the exact same thing. They also have access to a range of facilities to ensure their stay is as comfortable as is possible.
The charity also supports a musician who visits the NICU in order to reduce stress and pain for both parents and their babies. It has been proven to improve the quality of life of both patients and their families. Music therapy can also decrease the amount of medication required to treat these children, saving time and money for hospitals. The therapist uses specially designed instruments that resonate, which are tuned to specific frequencies. They play soothing tunes to soothe babies. Resonant instruments can also help relax fathers and mothers.
The Cots 4 Tots website
The Cots 4 Tots website is the home of a special charity that is raising funds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol. The charity has helped thousands over the past decade.
Abbey Silvester’s two babies, Alfie and Mollie, both were in the neonatal intensive care unit at St Michael’s Hospital. She says Cots for Tots was “an absolute godsend” and that her family and she wouldn’t have been able to get through the day without it. “You make friends here, you create a community and love amongst each other,” said she. “Without it, who knows what our lives might have looked like.”
The choice of the best cot for your baby is an important choice. There are a variety of sizes and styles you can pick from, so it’s crucial to think about what you will require in the future. A cot should be durable and have a good railing. It should be easy to clean and also have a bed that can be removed. Some cots come with an adjustable height base, which is perfect for parents with small children.
Moving can be stressful for everyone however for parents who are expecting it’s more stressful. They have to deal with a newborn and all the additional challenges that it brings. By hiring a transportation service early and preparing for the move to ensure a smooth transition.

Abbey Silvester ran the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run to raise money for Cots for Tots, a charity that is dedicated for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol. The charity, which is a part of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal provides home-from-home accommodations for families staying in the hospital.
The house, which was opened after PS1m was raised locally, allows parents to stay close to their sick babies while also being able to cook, wash and take some rest. The house also lets them establish friendships and help families in the same position.
The charity has a particular connection for Natasha Attwood, who stayed at home with her son Cobie and daughter Avalon. She describes it as “a Godsend”. Her son and her daughter are both healthy now, but she still visits them frequently and is grateful to the team who took care of them.
